Abbey came to me from Karen and Paul Sanders of Allagante Silken Windhounds from the Famous Roads Litter. When the litter was first born, I was fairly certain I wanted the little boy, but as the puppies grew, Abbey began to peak my interest, particularly when the 5 week pictures were posted. She had a front on her I just loved (see pictures below). She is an absolute joy to have! The silliest attitude and yet very sweet and loving. I am thrilled to have been given the opportunity to add this little spitfire to my pack! Watch this space for updates as she grows!
saw an exciting year as the only show Abbey was old enough to attend nearly finished her UKC Ch title in 4 shows at just days past 6 months old!! Lots of feedback from the judges that weekend and she is only 10 points shy of her title. No doubt we'll get that in 2018. She also was recently evaluated by the very well known Pat Hastings and she was very impressed by this girl.
brought Abbey her first two champion titles as she completed the requirements in both UKC and IABCA. This included several Best of Breed wins and Group placements.
brought continued success as Abbey completed the requirements for her Grand Champion title in UKC and her Honors Champion Bronze in ICE. She also finished with several Best of Breed wins and Group placements. She also received her first Best in Show win as an adult!
saw Abbey's first litter. A lovely litter of 2 girls and a single boy that have all been more than I could hope for. She also showed one weekend against very stiff competition bringing home a 1st place finish in her Open Class at a Silken Specialty as well as BOB/Group 2 at the UKC show the same weekend. This gave her enough points to tie for 6th in the UKC Top Ten Breed Standings, earning her an invitation to the prestigious show Premier, the UKC equivalent to the Westminster dog show. She also completed the requirements for her SPOT-ON title with UKC.
stated out well as Abbey completed the requirements for her Emerald Grand Champion title with UKC by going Best of Breed and Group 1 in May.
saw Abbey's retirement from breeding. Her 2nd and final litter had to be delivered by cesarian due to a very rare condition of her uterus called Primary Inertia. I made the very difficult decision to spay her at the same time as I didn't feel I wanted to risk her with another litter. She will live out her days at Broadway as the puppy aunt and beloved, silly companion. Her legacy will live on through her progeny however, so all is not lost with this wonderful lady.
