Rini came to me from Michelle Smith from Aeracura Silken Windhounds out of AZ (http://aeracurasilkens.com/). Despite being a carrier for both CEA and MDR1, I could not pass up this lovely bitch. She has been everything I had hoped. She confidently showed to a Best Puppy in Multi Breed Show days after turning 3 months old against close to 50 other puppies! She is showing tons of lure drive and I expect her to do well in lure coursing and straight racing. Her temperament is also to die for. She is the definition of confidence and absolutely LOVES people.
Rini finished out 2017 as the 2nd fastest Silken at the annual ZASSC competition (click here for details) and was only beat out by tenths of a second! She also finished her Novice title in Barn Hunt and completed the requirements for her SPOT and CGC titles. Versatile is most definitely Rini's definition.
2018 brought motherhood to Rini. Although there were complications during pregnancy, she whelped 3 lovely girls. She also repeated her 2nd place finish in the annual ZASSC competition.
In 2019, I decided to bring Rini back out in the show ring as a champion. She finished the year with 1 Champion Class Win, 7 Reserve Champion Class placements and took Reserve Winners Bitch at the 2019 Rocky Mountain Silken Showdown specialty show.
2020 put the breaks on a lot of plans, but we still managed one weekend out in the conformation ring where Rini took 1st place in American Bred at a Silken Specialty show in Texas.
2021 has been a challenging year so far for Rini. She had her 2nd litter which unfortunately had to be delivered by c-section. Because of her age and this being the 2nd litter she had difficulties with, I made the hard decision to go ahead and spay Rini. With luck, her babies will continue her legacy though. Rini will now live the rest of her days as the spoiled queen she is as the leading lady at Broadway. May try to show her in Altered and see how that goes. She loves being out and doing things with me, so why not?
